Lindsay Land
Lindsay is a post-baccalaureate fellow in the Community Geoscience Initiative of the Earth System Science Department at UCI. She graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Computational Biology, where she studied large-scale changes in tropical forest cover in Central Africa using satellite-based data. Through the CGI program, she aims to explore our changing relationship with the environment through more anthropological and ethnographic methods, and explore how quantitative and qualitative knowledge can be used to transition between various scales. As a Black woman, she is interested in re-representing BIPOC spatial relationships to the natural and built environment. Outside of research, she enjoys reading, music (both playing and listening!), exploring new areas, and doing crafts.
