The Frontline Research to End Exploitation (FREE) Institute works with community-based organizations to evaluate and enhance the impact of arts-based interventions. Our work aims to advance knowledge and action to address exploitation in all its forms. Grounded in participatory values and empowerment, we engage directly with survivors and communities, ensuring that the voices of those with lived experience are at the center of our research. By fostering equitable partnerships across local, regional, and global contexts, we seek to uncover nuanced insights and develop actionable solutions. Our projects explore topics such as the role of music in healing, community-building, and social change
By fostering equitable partnerships across local, regional, and global contexts, we seek to uncover nuanced insights and develop actionable solutions. Our projects explore topics such as survivors’ strengths and priorities, the intersection of climate change and exploitation, public perceptions of human trafficking, and the role of music in healing, community building and social change. We partner with anti-exploitation programs that support survivors to identify effective interventions and preventive strategies.
